As you have no doubt noticed, the design of the blog has changed considerably. This change has been made primarily because my blog entries tend to get lengthy; as such you can't see what else has been written. This is fine if you check the blog regularly, but if you miss a day or two, you may miss some of my earlier writings.
So we are going to try this format and see how it works.
Anyway, here is a brief tour of the blog. This tour assumes you stick to the 'Magazine' format of the blog. You have the option of changing the format if you wish by looking at the left hand side of the page line where you can change the format using the drop down menu.
In the middle of the blog are the entries I have made. They are date-stamped so you can see when they were written. Most of the stories do not show the complete entry. If there is a box to the right of the story with a number in it, that indicates the number of the comments made to the particular story. To see the full story, all you need to do is click on it and the article will expand completely. All comments are under the story and if you wish to add your own comment, you may do it under any comments which may have previously been made.
At the top left of the expanded story you will see arrows going to the left and the right. Clicking on the appropriate arrow will move you to the next story expanded completely. On the right hand side you will see an 'X'. Click on the 'X' and you will return to the magazine view.
What about those pictures and links you used to see on the side of the blog? On the right hand side you will see a thin black area. Put your mouse over that black area and it will open. It is possible you may just see a small black area which says subscribe. If you see just subscribe, refresh the page once or twice and you will see the longer and narrower black area. If you are using an older browser, the page may not display properly. In this case, you may wish to consider using the latest version of IE Explorer or Google Chrome among others.
Whichever icon your mouse is over will expand to give you a description of the icon. If you click on the description, you will see the full item and you may then chose to explore more within the item. When done with those items on the side bar, just click in an open space and the side bar will close.
What do you think of the new format? Please let me know.
