Announcing the 2014 Great White North Tour

After a one year hiatus, it is time to bring back the famous tour of the lesser known tracks during the non-stakes season, but with a difference.  This year, we are having the Great White North Tour where we will feature tracks racing in the frozen tundra (tracks we seldom discuss).  On each race date we will provide handicapping selections for their card plus any thoughts we may have regarding the track.

Here is the preliminary schedule for the 2014 Great White North Tour as additional dates will be added and some dates may be subject to change.

• Friday, December 27, 2013 - Meadowlands
• Wednesday, December 31, 2013 - Charlottetown Driving Park
• Thursday, January 2, 2014 - Northfield Park 
• Thursday, January 9, 20114 - Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment
• Saturday, January 11, 2014 - Flamboro Downs
• Wednesday, January 15, 2014 - Buffalo Raceway
• Tuesday, January 20, 2014 - Western Fair Raceway
• Saturday, February 1, 2014 - Freehold Raceway

After the card, I will update the selections so you will see how I did.

As bad as things are in Ontario, it could be worse.  Apparently for the foreseeable future, harness racing is finished in the province of Saskatchewan as the SHHA voted to dissolve.  After all, what is a horseman's association to do with out a race meet?  As the province gave exclusive control of OTW to the thoroughbred interests.   .
