Richard Scott is the winner of the 2013 HANA Harness Grand Circuit Handicapping Challenge which concluded last evening with the Cleveland Classic at Northfield Park. This contest began back in April and involved handicapping all the Grand Circuit Finals through last night's finale. Thanks to the tracks who sponsored the event, $3,250 is being donated to various standardbred rescues.
This was a tough contest to win with all the divided races leaving short fields and a slew of favorites to win the races but Scott had one hot weekend where he made over $1,000 in profits which allowed him to lead the field the rest of the way.
Thanks to the Hambletonian Society, Chicago Harness (Balmoral and Maywood Parks), IHHA, Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment, Red Shores Charlottetown, Tioga Downs, and Vernon Downs for providing the prize money being distributed to the top three handicapper's rescues of choice.
Looking for a unique Christmas gift or something for yourself? The Standardbred Retirement Foundation is having an online auction on Ebay where you can win some whips from famous people in the industry. You will find the whips being sold by one of two sellers on Ebay; srfhorses or Jerseyhorselover (a couple more whips will be added tonight). The proceeds from this auction will be donated to SRF.
