Friday's Feature Race; End of the Line for Peelers?

This Friday's feature race is the $233,400 Moni Maker being contested at the Meadows.  This is the first year the Moni Maker is being held at The Meadows as the race transferred from The Red Mile.  The race may not have as many top horses as it did in Lexington, but there are a few horses who are sure to be seen at Lexington during Grand Circuit week.

Let's take a look at the race:

The Meadows 6th Trot - $233,400; The Moni Makeer - 3yo Filly Trot
1  Caitrin Hall (Ledford, 12-1) - Winner of PASS championship at Chester had no chance in American National.  Winner of the Review Stakes at Springfield.  Draws inside and is a threat.

2  Iron Lady (Palone, 5-2) - Winner of AmNat at Balmoral  has been racing well on the half mile track.  While not a half mile track, should note he had a problem qualifying at Saratoga with repeated breaks.

3  Beatgoeson Hanover (D Miller, 3-1) - Winner of three straight including the Zweig and Duenna, she has never been better.  This is likely the horse to beat.

4  Creme De Cocoa (D.R. Ackerman, 15-1) - Would appear filly has seen better days.  Would be a shock to see her in the winners circle and highly unlikely on any winning ticket.

5  Devilish Emerald (Zendt, 15-1) - Winless this year.  Is there really anything else to say about her?

6  E L Glamour (Rekila, 6-1) - No mistake this is a big class hike.  Seems like this fily is trained to close so expect her to stay back and hope for a fast pace and try to run the field down.  Should be noted driver used the same strategy last year with Christiana Hanover to win this race at Lexington at 52-1.  Expect horse to go off at higher odds.  If 20-1 or more, may be worth a small wager.

7  Lady Rainbow (R Zeron, 5-1) - Jumped in Simcoe and still finished second just missing; has been finishing 2nd in American National and Hambo Oaks final.  Post is not the best but will definitely be in the number.

8  Cashmere N Caviar (Hall, 12-1) - Palone gets off family horse to drive Iron Lady.  Has raced well in overnights but has had little success in PASS.  Will have to pass.

9  Firstclassprincess (Sears, 6-1)  - Draws the worst of it but won the Helen Smith Dancer at Freehold in 1:57.4.  Has shown some good lines earlier including the Duenna at the Big M.  Can't see a winner here, but should be included in exotics.

Selections: 3-7-9-2
Longshot Play: 6

See You At Peelers is to be scratched from NYSS this Monday.  Trained this morning by Marcus Johansson and it was determined she was still not right.  At this point, the question to be asked is if we will see her anymore this year, if ever.
