Checking In on Anthony Coletta

It has been over a year since Driver Anthony Coletta was involved in a serious accident at Harrah's Philadelphia and while the sport has rallied around Anthony, it has been a while since there have been any updates as to his condition.  While those around Coletta continue to work hard on his recovery, and friends support him (Rene Allard will be training one of Coletta's horses for free this year), it would be a good time to give an update so the rest of the racing community and fans are kept up to date.  Thanks to Anthony DeFrancesco for providing me with some details regarding Anthony's progress.

While in many areas Anthony has improved, he still has a long road ahead of him.  That being said, those who saw him initially and have seen him  now are amazed at the progress which he has made.  Not that it is easy.  He visits different types of therapists 5-6 times a week.  Fortunately, he has begun speaking a little and manages to recognizes and knows people.  While it has been over a year, Anthony and his family continue to press ahead. Sister Jackie has taken the lead in coordinating his treatment along with his mother and father.  The determination of the family and Anthony is quite inspiring.

As you can imagine, expenses continue to mount and the Stay Strong Anthony Coletta fundraising campaign continues.  Those who wish to contribute may do so by sending checks made out to Stay Strong Anthony Coletta to 3323 Nesco Rd., Hammonton, N.J.08037.  Those who wish to send letters of encouragement may send them to the same address.
