It has been fourteen years since Herve Fillion last raced in NY and NJ. Herve was charged with race fixing but was never convicted. After five years, the government realized they could not get a conviction so the government dropped the charge in exchange for a plea to misdemeanor tax evasion. Since then, Herve returned to racing in Delaware and Pennsylvania without any problems. Herve has clearly passed his prime career-wise but as the all time winning driver, he is still not allowed to race in the states where he had the most impact.
Isn't it time to let Herve back in New York and New Jersey to give him the opportunity to finish his career where he made his name?
I take action contrary to the interest of racing very seriously and am the first person for throwing the book at someone who cheats. However, keeping someone from racing after fourteen years when they were never convicted of race fixing seems to be unjust. Let Herve come home and finish his career where it began.
