You will at least get an idea of the top horses in the country so when a horse comes over you can look at the finishers and at least get an idea of the caliber they raced against. <br /><br />With respect to New Zealand and Australia, I find looking at the prior year earnings is a good gauge. This does need to change now. This is truly embarrassing how we must pretty much guess how foreign horses are going to do. Qualifiers don't always tell the whole picture. <br /><br />It got to the point that I had to include a certain trainer's horses in my wagering no matter what the horse looked like on paper after seeing longshot after longshot hit the board.
