Not that day 1 you are going to get $60,000 handles on those races, say at the Meadowlands? You need time for people to get used to it.

What is the harm in trying it? If after a little while it doesn't catch on, tracks will drop it.

Apparently the thoroughbred horsemen fear RUS. At some racing commissions, they are making the claim since someone is riding the horse, these races should be conducted under thoroughbred licenses. They don't want to see harness tracks get RUS because they fear it will siphon of wagering from them. That Blog Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15487597769210721585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4684463172854959042.post-25657809195497794452016-02-29T13:18:29.785-05:002016-02-29T13:18:29.785-05:00I respect your affection (obsession?) for RUS, but...I respect your affection (obsession?) for RUS, but I hope you realize that 99.9% of the wagering public has no interest in it whatsoever, nor WILL they ever. And before you suggest that "maybe if it was promoted better there would BE an interest", I'll remind you that you can't make somebody "like" something just by telling them that they should. The public barely has an appetite for harness racing any more; let's try to salvage what we have, before trying to "invent" something else!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
