Saturday Stakes

Two year old and three year old stake races are on tap today at Freehold Raceway and Pocono Downs with the running of the Lou Babic Memorial for 2yos and the Babic Memorial for 2yo fillies.  In addition the relocated Cane Pace will be contested at Pocono Downs on a card which features PASS finals.  Today, we will take a look at the Babics and Cane Pace.

Freehold 5th Pace - $104,500; Lou Babic Final - 2yo Open
1 - Handsome Henry K (Callahan, 8-1) - Needs to race avoiding overland route.
2 - Narragansett (Manzi, 10-1) - Only thing to say is Manzi pics up the drive.  Only plus.
3 - All Steinam (Bartlett, 7-2) - Racing well in minor stakes and picked up first victory at Tioga   Threat to step up.
4 - Little Michael B (Dube, 6-1) - Made up ground from post eight in second lifetime start.  Could improve.
5 - Bullet Bob (Pantaleano, 5-1) - Racing well and finished second in elim.  Winner draws poorly.  Theat.
6 - Verdad (Gingras, 3-1) - Has not thrown in a bad race yet and riding two horse win streak.  Horse to beat.
7 - Divluge (Berry, 12-1) - Jumped off in elim yet finished third.  Must mind manors.
8 - Mortal Zin (Kakaley, 9-2) - Elimination winner rewarded with post eight.  Much luck needed.

Freehold 8th Pace - $60,500; Lou Babic Final - 2yo Fillies
1 - Clear View Hanover (Manzi, 10-1) - Started from outside in elim and close to third.  Good chance here.
2 - My Deal (Teague, 9-2) - Lacksidasial third place finish in her elimination.  Possibilit.
3 - Rock With Delight (Dube, 12-1) - Two race win streak came ot an end last week.  May be in too deep.
4 - Rocking Reese (Bartlett, 8-1) - Good long shot play.  Finished second in elim; draws inside of winner this week.
5 - Denyittotheend (Gingras, 3-1) - Winner of two straight including elim.  Draws outside of 2nd place winner.
6 - My Ideal Hanover (Callahan, 5-1) - Swept series at RidC5/8.  FInished 4th in month off.  Upset play.
7 - Mikeleh (Pantaleanon, 7-2) - Elim winner draws post seven.  May be too much to overcome.
8 - Regal Rock (Kakaley, 6-1) - Second playe finisher draws even worse.  Too tough a spost here.

Pocono Downs - 1st Non Wagering Pace- $60,040; Shady Daisy - 3yo fillies (1st Div) Post 5:00pm
6 - Krspy Apple (Tetrick) - No See You at Peelers this week.  Should romp.
1 - Miss Annie J (Morrill) - Winner of three straight.  If there is an upset, it will be her.
4 - Honky Tonk Woman (Campbell) - Been racing over her head.  Dropping back to proper level.

Pocono Downs - 2nd Non Wagering Pace - $62,050; Shady Daisy - 3yo fillies (2nd Div) Post 5:15pm
2 - My Luvmylife (Morrill) - Finished second in Nadia Lobell.  Easier field here.
6 - New Album (Tetrick) - Was about to defeat See You At Peelers last week before intereferred and placed 1st.
1 - Rocklamation (Campbell) -Been off of late but draws the rail and Campbell.  Races back to earlier form?

Pocono Downs 13th Pace - $342,785; Cane Pace - 3yo Colts and Geldings
1 - Powerful Mist (Campbell, 4-1) - May pick up a small share here with the rail.
2 - Townslight Hanover (Bouchard, 15-1) - Almost won first heat of Confederation Cup.  Longshot play.
3 - Avenue Hanover (Hensley, 20-1) - Don't see anything to recommend.  Pass.
4 - Eighteen (Callaahan, 8-1) - Has tailed off from early season form.
5 - Shadyshark Hanover (Morrill, 7-2) - Winner of the Holmes and finished second in Battle cons.  Post a plus.. 
6 - Rollwithitharry (Johansson, 6-1) - Shows occasional good efforts; not enough to recommend.
7 - Betterthancheddar (Gingras, 5-1) - Nice qualifier.  Primed to land share.
8 - Roll With Joe (Tetrick, 5-2) - King of the three year olds the one to beat.  Post may make victory a little tougher.
9 - Hiuigh Noon (Macdonald, 12-1) - Adios winner looking for a long day.
